Terni - The town of Terni

Terni has a population of 105.018 inhabitants (Ternani) and a surface of 211,91 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 495,6 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 130 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Terni had a popolation of 108.248 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 105.018 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -3.00% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 41.741 families with an average of 2.52 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 102 and 1120 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 1.018 metres.

Work and workers:There are 1659 industrial firms employing 12670 people that are the 28.93% of the total of the workers. There are 2924 service firms employing 7548 people that are the 17.24% of the total of the workers. There are also 2557 firms employing 9687 people that are the 22.12% of the total of the workers. There are also 717 administrative offices emplying 13885 workers that are the 31.71% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 43.790 workers, that are the 41.70% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
