Orvieto - The town of Orvieto

Orvieto has a population of 20.705 inhabitants (Orvietani) and a surface of 281,14 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 73,6 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 325 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Orvieto had a popolation of 21.419 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 20.705 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -3.30% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 8.055 families with an average of 2.57 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 81 and 769 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 688 metres.

Work and workers:There are 522 industrial firms employing 1955 people that are the 24.36% of the total of the workers. There are 739 service firms employing 1774 people that are the 22.11% of the total of the workers. There are also 731 firms employing 2805 people that are the 34.95% of the total of the workers. There are also 152 administrative offices emplying 1491 workers that are the 18.58% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 8.025 workers, that are the 38.76% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
