Montone - The town of Montone

Montone has a population of 1.555 inhabitants (Montonesi o Arietani) and a surface of 50,82 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 30,6 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 482 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Montone had a popolation of 1.570 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 1.555 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -1.00% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 565 families with an average of 2.75 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 241 and 735 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 494 metres.

Work and workers:There are 47 industrial firms employing 599 people that are the 69.81% of the total of the workers. There are 30 service firms employing 58 people that are the 6.76% of the total of the workers. There are also 37 firms employing 108 people that are the 12.59% of the total of the workers. There are also 12 administrative offices emplying 93 workers that are the 10.84% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 858 workers, that are the 55.18% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
